We all know that American Airlines (AA) filed bankruptcy in the later part of last year (2011). If this is news for you, rest assured that there’s nothing to be appalled about! Continental, Delta, United, and US Airways have all gone through Chapter 11. And while the bankruptcy proceedings were going on court, airplane fliers continued to book their tickets on these airline companies, existing frequent flier miles were honored, new miles were earned and redeemed, and most importantly their planes still took off and landed.
